News from the Swiss Rugby Federation Suspension: Tournaments & Camps In view of the current local and global development in regards to the spread of the COVID-19 Virus (“Coronavirus”), the Swiss Rugby Union, in line with the advice of the health professionals in its medical commission, and of different sporting bodies and authorities, has decided to suspend all tournaments and training camps until April 1st, 2020. This will include all “Ecole de Rugby” and Youth tournaments (ages U8-U10-U12-U14) as well as all national team training camps (youth and adult). Before the end of March, the subject will be re-evaluated and a further measures may be implemented, depending on the evolution of the situation. For the moment, in line with expert recommendations and with good practice of other Swiss Sporting organizations, the U16, U18, and adult amateur league matches can continue, as long as they are allowed to do so by the national and local authorities. In any and all cases, all clubs are obligated to follow directives from the local, municipal, cantonal, and national authorities, and are reminded to minimize risk by following the recommendations on hygiene practices issued by the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (Bundesamt für Gesundheit / Office Fédérale de Santé Publique).
