Where is Terre Sainte ?
Terre Sainte is a region in the west of the canton of Vaud, between Nyon and Versoix, and includes the nine communes of Bogis-Bossey, Chavannes-de-Bogis, Chavannes-des-Bois, Commugny, Coppet, Crans-near- Céligny, Founex, Mies and Tannay.
A bit of History
The term Terre-Sainte (or Holy Land) appears for the first time in the middle of the 20th century to designate the Troupe of Scouts of the Protestant Parish of Commugny-Coppet which then takes the name of Commugny-Coppet – Holy Land (Terre-Sainte).
And rugby?
The Ecole de Rugby de Terre Sainte (ERTS) was created by Nyon Rugby Club to answer the strong demand from parents in the area to establish a junior rugby school. ERTS will concentrate its efforts on children aged from 6 – 14 in collaboration with the Ecole de Rugby de La Côte.
What ages are covered?
We accept children aged from 6 to 14 years old. They will be grouped according to age as follows:
Under 6’s (born in 2018 or 2019)
Under 8’s (born in 2016 or 2017)
Under 10’s (born in 2014 or 2015)
Under 12’s (born in 2012 or 2013)
Under 14’s (born in 2010 or 2011)
What time does training take place?
Training starts on Wednesday afternoons at the following times:
Under 6, 8 and 10 years – 2:30 pm to 4 pm
Under 12 and 14 years – 4 pm to 5:30 pm
What playing kit is needed?
Children should wear outdoor sports gear; either shorts or tracksuit bottoms, suitable top and studded boots (less important in Summer) or trainers – the new reversible rugby jerseys will be given out and should be worn at training. Mouthguards are required for U10 and upwards (we will have a selection of mouthguards available for purchase at training). It’s a good idea to bring a water bottle, small snack, and a hat if it’s cold.
Can girls also play?
Of course! Girls can play with the boys untill the Under 12 age group. Afterwards we will create a separate group, possibly with the girls from the Gland-La Côte rugby school.
Where and when do you train?
ERTS re-starts training on Sep 2, 2020training is on the grass training pitch at Chemin du Chaucey, Coppet and will continue each Wednesday afternoon. At the moment players should come already changed as we do not yet have access to changing rooms.
What do I need to do to register my child with ERTS?
You will need to create an account and inscribe your child on the Swiss Rugby Federations new player registration site: Sportlomo
– you will also need to upload a photo (passport style) and a copy of your child’s passport or i.d. card
– both the FSR licence fee and club fees are now collected via payment by credit card at the end of the registration.
How much are the fees and how do I pay?
Annual fees are CHF 225 for all sections, plus CHF 25 for the Federations playing licence. All fees should be paid via the online payment system at registration.
